Memories Are Made of This

We are continuing to sell our cookbook, “Memories Are Made of This.” Copies are available at many locations in Liberty and Chambers counties. The hardback cookbook sells for $20 each. Monroe City

Our hardcover book “Monroe City, Texas” details a history of Monroe City, articles on many of the families who lived in the Humble Oil Camps, the Sun Oil Camps, and the Brown & Root Camp. Jackson Store

The Heritage Park is seeking historical information about the old Jackson Store on FM 562 in Double Bayou. The store was owned and operated for many years by John Henry Jackson (1849-1934). We are particularly interested in photographs depicting the store (both inside and out), receipts, bills, ledgers, and any other such items relating to the history of the store. We are likewise interested in any photographs of the Double Bayou area. Jim Bob Jackson is leading an effort to raise funds for the restoration of the store. (More information)
